FAQs

What should I expect from our first session?
-The first session is mostly us getting to know each other, to build therapeutic rapport, get a history of you, and establish therapy goals you want for sessions moving forward. Our goal is to make sure we are a good fit for each other and moving forward with sessions is comfortable. We won’t be able to get to all the information in the first session as well as we won’t get started on therapy until our next session.
What should I expect in therapy sessions?
-Every therapy experience is different for each individual and each therapy session. The core aspects you should expect is a judgment-free space where you can share and discuss any subject matter freely so that we can explore what might be causing such distress and present emotional issues. My job is to support you, be curious about your experience, and share insights or different perspectives that might help you identify coping skills you could use to help manage what it is you are experiencing.
How long does each session last?
-Each session last approximately 50-55 minutes and the frequency of sessions is determined by you though I’d be happy to provide guidance on what frequency best meets your needs and what you are experiencing emotionally. We will discuss this in our first intake session so you have a good sense of how to schedule appointments.
What kind of therapy are we doing?
